Digital Transcription
Using the digital
transcription service couldn't be easier. I am able to
transcribe anything from a letter, a manuscript or even a
film or television script, and a fast accurate overnight service
if required.
The transcription software works with Philips, Sony, Sanyo, Grundig, Lanier, Olympus and VoiceIt digital recorders and
supports all audio files. We transcribe recorded dictations
using Express Dictation
software from NCH Swift Sound
Whether you are using a digital recorder or
recording directly onto your PC, just attach the digitally
recorded file to an email message and send to me at
lorraine@vbsupport.co.uk for a fast and competitive service. I
am also able to transcribe from CD or audio tapes and mini discs.
If you are new to digital transcription and
have further questions, and would like prices for our digital
transcription services, or are just curious as to how digital
technology can help your business, or perhaps want to get
started but don't know which digital recorder would be best for
you, then get in touch either by email or Live Chat and Virtual
Business Support will set you on the right track with no
obligation to use our digital transcription services.
Listed below is a short guide on some of the
many digital voice recorders that you may find useful.
PHILIPS
Both of Philips Digital Voice Tracers can be
voice activated, which allows hand free use, making this a great
choice for that drive home after a long day at the office. The
DVT
7620 has a recording time of 8 hours, and 16 hours for the
DVT
7670.
OLYMPUS
The Olympus
DS-330 has a recording time of 5.5 hours and is easy to
connect to your computer via a USB docking station.
EXPRESS
DICTATE - Computer Dictation System
Express Dictate is a computer based recorder
that works like a dictaphone. You dictate using your computer
or portable recorder and then send your recording via email to
your digital transcriber. For Medical and legal users there is
an encrypted version.
The
length of
time taken to transcribe tapes and digital files can
vary, and is dependent on the clarity and content of the
recording, and the number of people speaking.
These
following points should help to keep transcription time to a
minimum:
- Speak
clearly, slowly and at an audible level
- Record
in a quiet environment if possible
- Spell
out any technical words, names, etc.
- Start
recording well before you speak.
For your
general guidance, we speak around four times faster than we can
type, so a 15 minute recording should take around one hour to
transcribe, based on one person speaking clearly and
following the guidelines given above. If the content is
focus groups or meetings it can take six times longer to
transcribe.
